Pricing Your Services

Strategic guide to pricing that wins clients while maximizing your revenue

1The Art of Pricing

Pricing is one of the most important decisions you'll make on FORIRE. Price too high and you'll lose leads to competitors; price too low and you'll attract price-sensitive clients who don't value quality work. The goal is finding the sweet spot.

2Research Your Local Market

Look at what other professionals in your area and category are charging. Use the Search page to browse competitor profiles. Price within 10-15% of the market average for the best balance of competitiveness and profitability.

3Use the Right Price Type

FORIRE supports three price types: fixed (a set price for a defined service), hourly (rate per hour of work), and quote (custom pricing per project). Use fixed prices for standard services, hourly for ongoing work, and quotes for complex or variable projects.

4Offer Starting Prices

Even if you prefer to quote per project, showing a starting price helps customers budget and increases inquiry rates. Label it clearly as "starting from" so customers understand the final price may vary.

5Value-Based Pricing

Don't just price based on time and materials. Consider the value you deliver. A licensed, insured professional with 20 years of experience commands a premium. Communicate that value in your bio and portfolio so customers understand why your pricing is what it is.

6Adjust Based on Demand

If you're turning away work, your prices may be too low. If you're not getting leads, they may be too high. Monitor your lead-to-booking ratio and adjust quarterly. Seasonal demand also affects pricing — charge more during peak seasons.

7Be Transparent in Your Quotes

When sending quotes, break down what's included. Customers are more likely to accept a higher quote when they understand exactly what they're paying for. List materials, labor, timeline, and any warranties or guarantees.
