Client Communication
Master the art of professional communication that leads to 5-star reviews
1Communication Drives Reviews
The number one factor in earning 5-star reviews isn't the quality of your work — it's how you communicate throughout the project. Customers who feel informed and respected leave better reviews, even when things don't go perfectly.
2Set Expectations Early
Before starting any project, confirm the scope, timeline, and price in writing through the FORIRE messaging system. This prevents misunderstandings later. If the project scope changes, communicate the impact on price and timeline immediately.
3Respond Within Hours, Not Days
Aim to respond to client messages within a few hours during business hours. Even a quick "I'll get back to you with details by tomorrow morning" is better than silence. Customers equate responsiveness with professionalism.
4Provide Regular Updates
For multi-day projects, send a brief update at the end of each work day. Share progress photos when possible. Customers love seeing their project take shape, and regular updates reduce anxiety and build confidence in your work.
5Handle Problems Transparently
If you encounter a delay, an unexpected cost, or any issue, tell the client immediately. Don't hide problems — explain what happened, how it affects the project, and what you're doing to resolve it. Customers respect honesty far more than silence.
6Use Professional Language
Keep your tone friendly but professional. Avoid slang, texting abbreviations, or overly casual language. Proofread your messages before sending. Clear, well-written communication signals competence.
7Close Out with a Review Request
When the project is complete and the client is satisfied, politely ask for a review. A simple "I'm glad we could bring your project to life. If you were happy with my work, a review would mean a lot to me" is warm and effective.
